La Bella Dance Company

La Bella Company dancers are a select group of dancers who wish to take their dance training to the next level.  Our company dancers perform in multiple events throughout the year. Some of these events include dance competitions, special performances and parades. Our dancers have performed in Walt Disney World, on Broadway, the Wilma Theater, the Painted Bride and the Performance Garage in Philadelphia, Six Flags Great Adventure, Hershey Park and Dorney Park.  We also perform yearly in the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Dancers must be able to commit to the entire dance season,  August through June.  Dancers may not miss more then 3 company classes during the dance season.  Any student who misses more then 3 classes or any classes the week before a competition may be excused from the company. If a company member is involved in any other activity or sport that conflicts with company in any way, they may also be excused from the company.

Company Dancers are required to take the following:

*          1 Technique Class

*          1 Ballet Class

*          1 Company Choreography Class

Company members are to be considered "role models" of the studio and will, therefore, be held to a higher standard of behavior, participation and dedication.  We expect all company members to be supportive of each other and to exercise extremely good sportsmanship at competitive events, being respectful of the rules, other dancers, judges, etc.  All company members are expected to wear Academy of Dance Artistry jackets and other logo items to competitions and performances, to arrive 2 hours before their first scheduled dance time, and to stay through the applicable Awards Ceremonies.

Dance Competitions can be a wonderful experience for dancers who strive to do their best. Dance is an art form and the evaluation of dance can be very subjective.  While a High Score is nice to receive, it is not our main goal.  We are striving to grow as dancers, to improve our technique, to experience performing for and being evaluated by a panel of experts, and to simply enjoy the experience and have fun.

While we can advise you the specific weekend you must be available for competition events, we will not know the exact date and time until approximately 5 days prior to the weekend in question.  As such, the dancer must be available the whole weekend.  If you can not make this commitment please do not join the company.

All competition dates will be announced at the start of the Dance Season in August.

Company members who wish to do a solo or duet will have to take additional private classes to learn choreography.
